UK Kitchen Furniture Market p>Talk about your dreams. Talk about soap-box derbies. Talk about fashion. Talk about TV, movies, videos, music, pop-culture. Talk about your family tree. IT DOESN'T MATTER.The domestic kitchen furniture segment in the United Kingdom experienced steady growth in the early part of this decade. However, the overall market value declined in 2005 for the first time since 1999.The market experienced steady growth between 2000 and 2003. Growth slowed a bit during 2003/4, following a series of interest rate increases, a less robust housing market and a high level of price competition. During 2005, new house building levels in the priva But it needs to be honest. The Internet was created as a means to share information. That's still its main function and purpose. The people I refer to as "creative multipreneurs" are happiest when exploring their many passions and prefer to pursue multiple careers or develop multiple profit centers rather than choose just one. Like many people starting businesses they encounter a few boulders in the road to success. The following are six areas that may hinder you in your pursuit of your dreams.1. Timing/Duration It's quite common for many to express that the time is not right t But somewhere along the line the Internet was commercialized. Marketers realized that "hey, I could SELL this way." Spamming was born. Commercial websites were born. Now, the Internet is evolving again...because THE PURPOSE OF THE INTERNET IS TO CONVEY INFORMATION. People want to GROW. Personal, mental and emotional growth are as inevitable as physical growth. The Internet is the latest means for people to satisfy their need to grow their minds. But sell sheets and unsolicited email (i.e. SPAM) are not what people WANT. They want INFORMATION. They want to be enlightened, entertained, challenged, provoked. And they want to be able to EXPRESS THEMSELVES. So, in retaliation for the commercialization of the Internet, BLOGGING was born. "Blogs" or "Web Logs" started as simple electronic journals. Diaries, if you will. People started writing their thoughts, opinions and desires, recording their experiences and adventures, in logs published on the Internet. (Hey, it's virtually free, and can be done spontaneously, thus satisfying our need for results NOW.) Because web site browsing has now become so much like the TV commercial experience (what do we do when commercials come on?...go to the fridge!), blogging (and the reading of blogs) has become popular. It's a respite from the commercials! The Internet has always been about CONTENT. Why do you think search engines (Yahoo, Google, etc.) have been so successful? They DELIVER CONTENT. Blogs are a natural reaction to the over-commercialization of the information medium known as "the web." Do you have a blog? You should. And what should you publish on your blog? CONTENT. How To Promote Your Career al growth.A well-known adage advises that you have only to invent a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door, bearing recognition and riches. Believe me that's poor career advice! If you are content to accept that bit of career counseling, you are likely to end up with a shelf full of unsold traps.Common sense says that inventing a better mousetrap is only the first step toward a successful career. While many of us believe wealthy Americans inherited their wealth, or won the lottery, in actuality, 80% of the millionaires surveyed by the Census Bureau did not inherit their wealth, and about one-third of them achieved financial success by owning their own small business. Talk about soap-box derbies. Talk about fashion. Talk about TV, movies, videos, music, pop-culture. Talk about your family tree. IT DOESN'T MATTER.The price of crude oil and petroleum products reached a high in the international market last August 21st after Iran announced that it is continuing efforts to enrich uranium. Iran's statement and actions are direct contradictions to a United Nation resolution which bans uranium enrichment. Through its actions, the Iranian government risks possibly severe economic san But it needs to be honest. Your content needs to be about something OTHER than cramming a piece of crap (product) that you are SELLING down your visitor's throat. CONTENT is what makes sites "sticky." CONTENT is what makes people add your site to their "favorites." CONTENT keeps your prospects coming back to see what else you have to say. People are getting smarter...and less tolerant for the "infomercial" mentality. People want to GROW. Here in the US, at least, we have everything. We've seen everything. Whatever you're selling can be had some place else for less! Modern marketing is about RELATIONSHIPS. You can't win on price or convenience...there will always be a cheaper or faster option. Who are you? What do you have to say about life that's worth hearing? Figure that out and create a blog about it. Keep posting and posting and posting on YOUR THEME. And, oh, by the way, whatever you're selling to make a buck, SELL IT (softly). Stick an icon off to the side of your web pages. Work in COPY to the body of your blog about your product or service. PRE-SELL to SELL. Maybe you've got the coolest earrings in the world...show a picture of them! Maybe you've got a GREAT water filtration system...talk about your good health. IT DOESN'T MATTER! What matters to the modern web browser (the person, not the program) is, "who are you?" And why should they buy FROM YOU? Find your "niche." Hone in on it. Develop it. Make your business WORTH DOING. And while you're at it, try to genuinely provide INFORMATION that can improve the quality of your site visitor's life. For that they will thank you, visit you...and ultimately BUY from you.
