Considering Fleet Management - Fleet Managment Solutions
Fleet Management is an issue that any company will be faced with if they have a number of trucks that are used in the course of business. Fleet management is a means of controlling, tracking and monitoring the vehicles that are used in the company. Examples of business that may find fleet management useful are delivery services, public transportation systems, limousine companies, cab companies and any business that uses multiple vehicles in the course of business. The importance of fleet management is to help keep track of schedules and budgets. Choosing a fleet management system will greatly depend on the needs of the business and what the owner wants to accomplish. For tracking purposes, a GPS fleet management system can be an ideal source. Using a GPS fleet management system will allow a company to track where a vehicle is at any given time. This will help in a variety of ways. The control center can keep track of all vehicles and where they are so if a vehicle is off course, they can contact the driver to find out why. If a driver is lost, the control center can locate where they are and get them to their destination using the most convenient and fastest route. If there are emergency deliveries or unscheduled stops, the control center can use the GPS fleet management system to figure out which vehicle is the closest to the proposed stop. They can contact the driver of that vehicle and give directions. Using a fleet management system such as a GPS system will greatly improve efficiency and help in scheduling.Budgeting is always a concern for companies and increasing productivity and efficiency is a great way to reduce costs. Using a fleet management system will allow companies to ensure their labor is conducting their business with the most efficient use of their time possible. Making the most out of the existing labor force by utilizing a fleet management system will maximize profits with the increased productivity. Employees who have a lot of free time with little accountability may have a tendency to take advantage of the company. Not using the resources available as efficiently as possible costs businesses money. Employees who know their deliveries and stops are being monitored are less likely to take advantage of free time when the boss is not looking. Instead, they will be aware the fleet management tools

My Boogers Itch - Good Marketing or Not?
If you've driven through Atlanta - or perhaps throughout the South - you've seen large, attention-getting signs proclaiming (among other things) that someone has gas. ???My husband was the first to observe this sign. As he drove along 285, he picked up his cell phone and reported, "I pooted.""That's nice," I told him, once again rolling my eyes at his childish behavior. He called back five minutes later, heading north on Peachtree Industrial, to inform me, "My boogers itch." It took some time for me to believe these were real signs and not just the raving of my husband, the fruit cake. (But he still does good work!)Signs like this are springing all over the East coast, and a number of blogs laud them as 'great marketing!' There's only one problem - no one knows what, precisely, is being sold. My husband's first thought - and one others have expressed - was someone had won the lottery and decided to plaster these up to celebrate. I considered someone wanted a little humor on the drive home. We all need something to help lighten up the rush hour traffic. The signs surely grab your attention. But are the effective marketing? I say, no.I give Jay Conrad Levinson (of Guerrilla Marketing) so much publicity that you would think I was his publicity manager. What can I say, his books should be mandantory for small business owners. One point that he made in one of his books - I've read six or seven in the last month or so - was that ads that don't sell don't work. He specifically targeted the clever TV ads that we all remember, but whose brands we forget. If you only remember the commercial but forget the product, what is the point? It's not going to generate sales. He picked out the Energizer Bunny campaign as a great example of terrific marketing. I think Capital One and their pirates and villans also do a great job of marketing. But I have to give Cartoon Network's promo a big thumbs down.It is amazing to me that more has not been written on the web concerning the lousy advertising. An article at Pilot Online.com says, and I quote, "Most adults won't recognize the campaign's catchphrases". It goes on to quote Cartoon Network spokesman Joe Swaney as saying, ""but kids will know that that's a character line."So billboard advertising has moved to the 6-12 year old crowd? Most kids I know in that age range a
You need to understand that as you program your mind and ask yourself do you accept negative suggestions in your mind and when people say, "Well I can't" or "That's too hard" or "I'll fail" or "Why try" and "Nobody cares", makes a huge difference on how your mind works and your subconscious mind, if your telling yourself that you can't do it and when you have that voice that I call the internal heckler, that heckler inside you that tells you that you can't do it. It is important that you take that voice and turn the volume down and change it around to where "I can do it" and "I'm going to win" "there's plenty for everybody." It is going to make a difference and that is the important thing because your subconscious mind will accept what you program. It will never argue with you, you don't need to put any obstacles in front of it. The bottom line is that you are what you think about. You have the power to choose. Control your thoughts.

When you give you subconscious mind a problem or a challenge to solve, the best time, I have found, is before I fall asleep to think about and many times those ideas will come to me during the next day or while I sleep. The subconscious mind is always working on it. Understand very important though is that your subconscious mind does not respond to force. It responds to belief and acceptance. You need to let it happen and understand how to harness that energy because as you study successful people, successful CEO's, multi millionaires they’re following their gut they’re following their intuition and that is their subconscious mind. It is one of the power tools of the ultra prosperous. Napoleon Hill actually calls it autosuggestion or self-suggestion that it needs to reach your subconscious mind. He relates your subconscious mind to a garden. Are letting weeds grow? Are you letting desirable crops grow are you neglecting your garden?

Now let's spend some time on self-discipline. Now we've heard that self-discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment. Studies show that willpower is actually like a muscle. The more you exercise it, the more you use it, the stronger you get it. Let me give you a study. This study was done with college students. They put them in front of a table with a bowl of radishes and a bowl of chocolate. Half the students were told to restrain from eating the chocolate and to eat the radishes and the other half were able to eat the chocolates. Then they are asked to complete a puzzle. Now this puzzle was impossible to solve but they wanted to see how long they would work at it before they gave up. Now the ones that used their self-control and their willpower and their self-disciple not to eat the chocolate and eat the radishes, gave up much sooner. Those that were able to each the chocolate and not exercise their will power, worked at it much longer.

So when you are ready to make a choice there are three "R's" that you need to think about. Reflect about the issue, obstacle or challenge that you are having. Research your options, ask other people, and then react. Go out there and do it, change your life and reach exponential success. Getting Started in the Restaurant Business Requires the Right Kind of Passion
Many of the people who express interest in opening a restaurant business mention a passion for cooking, or entertaining. In speaking with them further, it is almost always the case that they have a very similar picture in their minds of what running a restaurant is going to be like- and it is usually quite far from the reality. What people often envision is a place like Rocky had in the latest Rocky movie, to use just one example. It is the kind of place where they spend a few minutes in the kitchen, tasting the latest amazing creation. Then, they stroll out into the dining area, always very elegantly decorated, and meet and greet their family, friends and acquaintances, and bask in unending praise for the quality of the food, the atmosphere, and mostly their amazing success. What is almost never a part of the fantasy are the long hours preparing for all that success, or the tedium and stress of the day to day operations required to keep a successful restaurant running. There are, to be sure, owners who don't do much more than cruise around shaking hands and counting their bank accounts. These types of owners are few and far between, and they have usually paid many many years of due in order to get to that point.Much more common are the owners you never see because they are stuck in the tiny back office, haggling with vendors, trying to meet payroll or covering shifts on the weekends, holidays and late nights that they have to work because they can't find or can't afford to get anyone else to do it.This is not meant to scare anyone away from getting into the restaurant business. Rather, it is hoped that anyone who gets into it goes in with their eyes open as to what it is actually going to take to make it succeed. If you enjoy cooking, and want to get into the business because of that, you will likely be disappointed. The reason is that once the menu is created, the cooking becomes a routine. It is no longer about creativity, it is simply about volume, speed, portion and quality control- more like a manufacturing plant than a party atmosphere. If you try to change the menu every night, you will increase your food costs and seriously handicap your ability to generate good profits. You also risk losing repeat business, since most people who come back to a restaurant order the same few things over and over again.m. It will never argue with you, you don't need to put any obstacles in front of it. The bottom line is that you are what you think about. You have the power to choose. Control your thoughts.

    It's All About the Brand
What is creating a brand? Brand marketing is creating recognition, creditability, and trust in your products and services. Your business image should be recognized as a leader of the services that you provide. What makes your services the best? What will make that potential customer choose you over your competition? It has to be more than that you are a trained massage therapist. The basic training of every therapist is Swedish massage. It is important that you recognize in yourself what skills that sets you apart from your competition. These could be through the products that you utilize to the environment that you create or the skilled combination of other modalities and treatments that you include in your massage therapy services. Why create a brand? The increase in the demand of massage therapy services will also increase the number of those that will supply massage therapy services. As competition increases, you need to be able to survive in order to become successful. When do you start creating your brand?Creating a brand starts at the beginning; even before you choose your business name. If you choose to use your own name for your business; then your name must be synonymous with the services that you provide. How do you create a brand? In order to have clientele, you must have a message that resonates with your potential customers. In other words, how do they know how they will benefit from massage services from you specifically? Select a specific area of treatment, or specialty, that you especially enjoy providing; or select a specific target market population (your desired customer profile) and specialize in the services that are attractive to them. You can not create a brand by being "all things to all people" or promoting that massage is good for everybody. "Everybody" will come if you provide a specialty.Where do you create a brand? You create a brand where you want to offer services and to whom you want to purchase those services. You create your own brand of massage therapy by becoming that brand. You are the brand.

Six Ways For Kids To Make Money
Most of us know the usual ways for kids to make money, which include lemonade stands, newspaper routes and mowing lawns. However, there are more unusual ways. Some of the ways listed below are from my own childhood, when I was always looking for another way to make money.1. Be a chef. At about eleven years old, I used to sell meals to my brothers (I had four of them). I got 25 cents for scrambled eggs or a sandwich, and more for more complicated meals. My brothers preferred to stay in front of the TV and let me cook for them. Since the food was already provided by my parents, the income was pure profit.2. Computer whiz-kid service. Many young kids know a lot about computers. My nephew was getting paid for programming by the the time he was fourteen, but even younger kids can show old folks how to use a computer and the internet for a fee. Learn a few more skills, and they can even set up computers for new owners who are using them for the first time. Letting grandparents spread the word would be a good marketing ploy.3. Household carnival. I charged my brothers five cents for a wadded up piece of paper selected from a bucket full of them. Most had a penny or two inside them, but a few had a quarter. It was just one of my "carnival" events. I also had them throwing pennies at a bowl across the room, which I kept, of course. If a penny stayed in the bowl they won a dime. I'm almost embarrassed to say how much of their hard-earned paper route money I took from them.4. Collect returnables. We collected and returned cans and bottles for a deposit as kids. Now that more states have return laws, it's an even better way to make a little cash. During the Cherry Festival, when I lived in Traverse City, Michigan, adults came to town just to collect the cans that people threw all over. With a 10 cent deposit, they were collecting more than $100 worth per day according to several of them. If the kids wear gloves, leave broken cans and bottles alone, and use hand sanitizer, this is a safe way to make money.5. Personal services menu. If there are many people in the family, a great way for kids to make money is to sell their services. They can make a menu of things they'll do and how much they charge for each. It might include washing windows for 50 cents each, for example, and maybe $1.50 to walk a dog. If the list is copie

    Does Everybody Have To Win?
Does Everybody Get a Trophy? Does Everybody Win? What happened to Champion being #1 Taking home the whole enchilada (so to speak)There are a lot more trophies, plaques, medals and ribbons and of course promotional products than there used to be.In the past there was: A trophy for the winner… A plaque for the top achiever… A reward for the best salesman…Now there is more emphasis on recognizing the whole team.In schools & junior sports, participants receive a medal, ribbon or some form of recognition for the part they play in just being there. For effort, for the team. These aren’t actually awards. They are promotional products, designed to encourage the recipients to come back next time. Create loyalty.Does it cost a lot of money?? Not compared to the return. Particpation medals or gifts, help to keep those players coming back to that particular sport and that’s good because each sport is vying for players. An athletic boy or girl can play all sports well and each sport wants that player.Same in industry. That’s where Industry and the Corporate world are like the sports world. It’s important to keep the good people in your company and in your industry. It’s not companies that succeed it’s the personnel.. but not just your employees.. Your team should also consist of suppliers and customers, service groups and colleagues, family, associations and clubs.. WHO’S ON YOUR TEAM??Take a good look at your company or your sports team or your people and decide if you want to keep them. Wouldn’t it be nice if they were all on the same bandwagon you’re on.Hertz did pretty well as second as a matter of fact there are a lot of blue chip fortune 100 companies that are not #1 but I'm sure they are #1 with their customers. I'll also bet they are continuing to attract new customers, employees & suppliers.Recognizing and acknowledging effort, success, good deeds, assistance, etc. is not expensive. As a matter of fact it’s not an expense... it’s an investment…Call Rod Winning rod-fairways@hotmail.com or info@winningfairways.com
you are having. Research your options, ask other people, and then react. Go out there and do it, change your life and reach exponential success. Because as you look as procrastination and the things you are avoiding and the habits in your life, you have to realize that your life right now is an accumulation of the choices, habits and decisions that you've made. Your habits will determine your future and your success. Many times when we look at our eating habits, our exercise habits, or failure to save money, the challenge is many times we don't see the results or the consequences of those actions until twenty thirty years down the road.

Here is the key; you can't change your habits you need to replace your habits. If you have a bad habit of watching too much TV, replace it with reading and listening to motivation tapes. If you have a bad habit of eating, you can replace it with exercise or something more productive. So take a look at your habits and create an action plan to replace those habits with more productive habits. I'm excited for you as you go down this path of exponential success. What I want you to do is give yourself permission to win. You can with this game, you can become what you want to become but give yourself permission, program your mind, look at your habits and find your purpose in life. Many of you already know your passion, your purpose in life. What you need to do change yourself and to change the world. If you don't know don't panic. It is like sculpting, a little bit at a time. You'll get there. Find your purpose and align that with your natural ability. Another question you can ask yourself is "What do you want it to say in your Eulogy?" Or you can write a statement of purpose, but figure it out. Live your life with purpose. When you find that purpose it will increase your confidence.

One of the great exercises you can do is actually make a victory list, things you've accomplished in the past when you've had that courage and confidence to succeed. You know it has been said everyone is born unique, but most of us die copies. As Victor Franco said in Man's Search for Meaning, I think the meaning of our existence is not invented but rather detected." That is what I want for you. Detect your purpose in life. What do you want to be, what do you want to accomplish? Get on the road to exponential success and you'll see a big difference in what you are able to accomplish and your happiness and your willingness and your ability to change the world. Understand what Martin Luther King Jr. said, "Take the first step in faith; you don't have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step." Part of that faith is believing without seeing and knowing you are able to accomplish this, and seeing your future. So get committed, keep the promises you make to yourself and others. Work on that willpower. Watch the words you use. Don't say I'll try, or I could, I hope, I might, I wish. Say I will, I can. Program your mind for success. As Vince Lombardy says, "The quality of your life will be determined by the depth of your commitment to excellence, more than any other factor." So what are you committed to, really committed to? What are you willing to sacrifice to achieve that? Make sure the commitments we make in a moment of excitement have the sustaining motivation to take us to the next level. Your commitment needs to be stronger than your moods. I'll repeat that, make your commitments, what you want to accomplish, where you want to go, stronger than your day-to-day moods. You'll have bad days; you'll feel like not doing the things you know you need to do. Find the commitment, find the courage and do it. The wealth, the success, the relationships, the teams, the mentors you need are around
