I do not want to live in a country like this; I do not want my kids to grow up in a country that allows people to have laws changed and made whenever one small group feels like they need to protect everyone else. It is not right. We are losing our rights little by little and the people in Washington are letting it happen, because it seems to give them more power. Power is the goal of politicians not the best interest of the people they represent.

There is also the idea that the rich are bad. I am a single mom going to school and working two part-time jobs and I do not want to see the government take money from the rich and give to the poor. I want to earn my own way and have the satisfaction that I earned something or if I inherit something be able to say that I was able to create even more wealth for my family with what I was given. It is not the government’s role to play Robin Hood. We are each responsible for ourselves and our families and we should not be told that because you are rich we need to take more from you so that the poor family down the street can have more things. The government already provides welfare, food stamps, housing and college grants for people that need help, There is money for medical care for children and seniors, what else does the government need to supply. My concern is that there are leaders that would like to see us become a socialist society and live a life where everyone is equal that is not possible. It has been tried and failed and those who work hard will support those who choose not to work, this is wrong and I do not want to see my children grow up in a society that practices this policy. Even the Bible says that the poor will always be with us. There are politicians that are putting false ideas into the heads of poorer people, in order to promote themselves and become more powerful. This is wrong and no one in Washington seems to care. Stand up and fight for what is right and what our founding fathers wanted for this country.

We can deal with reform later, just stop anymore illegal’s from coming over so that the illegal population does not get any larger. I think we have laws that would work, if we only enforce them. We need to give Homeland Security the resources that they need to deport and find these people. Also, we should not allow any city to provide sanctuary to illegals; we have every right to ask what there status in this country is.

I love President Bush and have respect for him and support him in this war, but he is wrong about immigration and this bill needs to be stopped.
