Top Ten Reason to Publish an Ezine AND a Blog
Blogs are the hottest thing going these days when it comes to marketing on the Internet. A blog is a way of delivering your messages and article to clients. They are a like personal web sites, easy to create and far less expensive than traditional web sites.Just when you thought you were mastering the tasks of ezines and newsletters, along comes blogging, and you have to ask yourself:Do I really need a blog?Isn’t an email ezine or newsletter doing the same thing?Should I do both? Are these two marketing tools going to eat up all my time, energy and money? What’s the best way to spend my resources here so that I can get clients and results out of my marketing efforts? Here are ten reasons why you should pay attention to this new blogging revolution and do both and ezine and a blog.1. Because a blog is web based, it is published instantaneously every time you post. This allows you to be spontaneous and current with issues that affect your readers/clients. Blog posts are short, ezines can be longer. One can complement the other.2. Because blog posts are spontaneous, they tend to be more informal, friendly, and conversational. Blog posts show your personality. Ezines show your knowledge. Your readers/clients need to know who you are before they will invest in your services. Providing both an ezine and a blog allows your readers to get to know you.3. You can set up a subscription form on your blog and your subscribers will get a short notice in their inboxes each time you post something new. This is a great way around the spam filter problem which blocks so many ezines and legitimate messages from professionals.4. Blogs link to other blogs and web sites, which helps you create a viral marketing system, inc

    PRIORITY ONE: FATHERHOOD

Reestablishing fatherhood, in my opinion, must become a PRIMARY issue among Christians. According to Jesus, quoting from the Old Testament book of Deuteronomy, the greatest commandment is this: " And you shall love the Lord your God with all your [mind and] heart and with your entire being and with all your might." (Deut.6:5) Dropping back to verse 2, we read, "…That you may [reverently] fear the Lord your God, you and your son and your son's son, and keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged.” Verses 6-7 say: "And these words which I am commanding you this day shall be [first] in your [own] minds and hearts; [then] You shall whet and sharpen them so as to make them penetrate, and teach and impress them diligently upon the [minds and] hearts of your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up."

In the Hebrew culture, a father was to be diligent in instructing his children in the ways of the Lord. In our own culture, how are we doing in comparison? It is of primary importance for the sake of our society, that our kids be raised in the "nurture and admonition of the Lord," (Eph 6:4). Based upon Scripture, this responsibility rests upon dear ol’ dad.

Proverbs, 22:6-11 reads, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old (as he grows older), he will not depart from it." To train, indicates the first instruction that a father and mother gives to a child; i.e., his early education. The training is designed to open before the child the manner of life for which he is intended. To initiate a child's early learning in this way is of great importance, like a tree that can be “trained” to grow the direction that it is bent from its earliest years. Ephesians 6:4 provides a word of instruction to fathers, stated in a negative and positive way. "And you fathers, provoke not your children to wrath; but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord." Here is what the Bible says about a father's responsibility in child- rearing: The negative aspect of the verse reveals that a father is not to foster the bad passions of their children by severity, injustice, partiality, or unreasonable exercise of authority. Negative conduct towards a child will only serve to nurture evil within their hearts.

The positive aspect comes from a father’s dedication to educate them, train them, develop their conduct in all of life by the instruction and admonition of the Lord. This is the training (being a definite role model as a father) or education of a child—the whole process of educating and discipline. The word "admonition" carries with it the idea of "putting the child in mind of," which is the act of reminding the child of faults (constructively) or duties (responsibilities according to their level of age and understanding.)

Children are not to be allowed to grow up without care or control. Proverbs 29:15 warns us, “The rod of correction imparts wisdom, but a child left to himself disgraces his mother.” They are to be instructed, disciplined, and admonished, so that they are brought to knowledge, self-control, and obedience. This whole process of education is to be from a Christ-centered perspective. Any other means of educating may result in disastrous failure. Even the if a child resists his Christian upbringing, we are encouraged (Proverbs 22:6) that if we “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Many are the examples of people raised in a Christian manner who, when they grew into adulthood, recognized the error of their ways, repented, and pursued a godly path. Where Christian discipline is concerned, bear this in mind: Martin Luther said, "Keep an apple beside the rod to give the child when he does well." Food for thought.

We must never forget that the moral and spiritual element of a child’s nature is just as essential as their intellectual, athletic or social skills. Spirituality, therefore is as necessary to the development of the individual as anything. Even moreso. Proverbs, again, reminds us, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge and wisdom." FATHERS CRITICAL INFLUENCE

The Christian father is really the instrument in God's hand. The only possible means of profitable education is the nurture and admonition of the Lord and the role of a father has been God-ordained as the means to this end. The whole process of instruction and discipline must be that which comes from God so that His authority should be brought into constant and immediate contact with the mind, heart, and conscience of our children. That’s not happening. But it must begin! The human father should set himself as the ultimate authority to determine truth and duty in the home; as the Servant-Leader of his home, he must point the way to his OWN King, Jesus. Too often, a man “throws his weight around” and rules in a dictatorial manner, instilling fear into his children rather than respect. This simply develops the human aspect of "self." It is only by making Jesus the ruler, on whose authority everything is to be believed and in obedience to whose will every thing is to be done, that positive results can possibly be attained.

The Scriptures instruction to fathers is always God's ideal. We tend to bring those ideals down to our human level and experience. Upon reflection, I recognize how often I have failed in my pursuit of the biblical ideal. That does not falsify the Scripture and God's truth and His wisdom. I cannot say "the Scripture just doesn't work." I WILL say, if we shoot for the moon, the worst we will do is to land among the stars.

    So, aim high, dad.
"All Scripture is given of God, and is profitable for teaching, reproving, correcting, and instruction in righteousness; that the man (or woman) of God may be completely equipped for all good works" (2 Timothy 3:16, 17). Therefore, if you were not blessed with a godly fatherly example, learn about your fathering role from the One who authored the concept, God Himself.

Learn what the Bible says about being a father. The means and methods we use to teach God's truth will vary, but those truths should always be applicable to any lifetime child’s vocation, choices and lifestyle. As you are faithful in role modeling, what your children learns about God will place them in good stead for all of their lives. They must learn from your example how to love the Lord their God with all their mind and heart and strength and desire to serve Him in everything they do.

    FACTS ABOUT FATHERLESSNESS

Despite all of her proud accomplishments, America leads the world in fatherlessness. Its impact on our culture impacts each one of us. According to a recent study by Josh McDowell, there are over 25 million fatherless kids in America. Most were abandoned while they were infants.

Other statistics are just as frightening:
    · 36.3% of all children in America live absent their biological father according to the National Center for Fathering.
    · The Center for Successful Fathering found that only 27% of all kids in America live with both their biological mother and father.
    · 71% of high school drop-outs come from a home without a father according to the National Principles Association.
    · 85% of kids locked up in youth prisons come from fatherless homes according to the Texas Department of Corrections.
    · One major study sponsored by the National Fathering Initiative found that 60% of America's rapists, 72% of adolescent murderers, and 70% of long- term prison inmates are all people who grew up without the guidance and direction of a loving father.

The good news is that providing these kids with a committed Christian role model works. Study after study points out the positive life long impact that a committed adult can have on a child's life. One study by Columbia University found that children with one committed role model are 90% more likely to graduate from high school compared to children who have no such role model.

Compared to children in male-headed traditional families where their natural parents are married to each other, children living in female- headed single-parent, lesbian or other environments where they are deprived of their natural fathers are:

    1. Eight times more likely to go to prison.
    2. Five times more likely to commit suicide.
    3. Twenty times more likely to have behavioral problems.
    4. Twenty times more likely to become rapists.
    5. 32 times more likely to run away.
    6. Ten times more likely to abuse chemical substances.
    7. Nine times more likely to drop out of high school.
    8. 33 times more likely to be seriously abused.
    9. 73 times more likely to be fatally abused.
    10. One-tenth as likely to get A's in school.
    11. On average have a 44% higher mortality rate.
    12. On average have a 72% lower standard of living.

Fathers' absence has resulted in some dismal statistics that have only served to weaken us as a nation. It’s a problem that government cannot solve; a problem that we cannot throw money at and expect it to go away. Ours is a Government-led society, where women are deceived into believing that a man is unnecessary because the state will take care of them. Our boys are programmed to believe that women are sex- starved and are fed a steady diet of the female form to fuel the fires of their sex drives. Our daughters are educated by their pop-star idols that this is how a young lady dresses while slick magazines tell them everything they think they need to know about what pleases a man. The media, in general, is killing families, stealing the initiative of our computer-programmed kids and destroying our culture in the process.

    Quality Tenants Are The Answer
There are many insurance companies that offer landlords peace of mind. These policies will guarantee you receive the rent you are expecting from your property regardless of your tenants’ personal circumstances, ability or willingness to pay the rent.Personally, I don’t believe on credit-checking tenants. All letting agents insist that you do this, but I disagree. Credit checks costs between ?17.50 - ?94.00, depending on what service you require. For me, it is advisable to have this check for only certain types of tenant and areas. If your property is in high demand area, it is worth credit-checking because the tenant is paying all the rent and you can be choosy. This ensures that you get the best tenant. Most of these tenant can pay the whole year rent upfront! I would suggest you ask for employer’s reference as well to make sure he is what he say he is.If the property is in a low demand area, you cannot be choosy. Most people will fail a credit check - even a chartered accountant I know who earns ?250,000 per annum on his rental business alone have a default that he is currently investigating from 18 months ago for ?4.89, which renders his credit check as a failure. A credit check is computer generated based on a person’s past circumstances but it doesn’t guarantee a best tenant. It is very important to get employer’s reference. A ?4.89 default does not make a person uncreditworthy at all.Do not be afraid to ask. How much is his earnings and then compare that earnings to the rent you are charging. If the monthly rent is approximately 1/3 of their monthly income, then he can probably afford it. There are many reasons that a person can pass a credit check but still end up on these:He lost his job. Things happen and this

Though bad credit auto loans may come with certain penalties, such as higher interest or required down payments, they can help to build and improve your credit when you pay on time.Bad Credit Auto Loans Come With a PriceWhile it is true that bad credit auto loans are readily available for anyone who needs them, they do come with a price. As with any loan, if you have good credit, your interest rate will be low; if you have bad credit, your interest rate will be high. Depending on the severity of your credit and the lender that you choose, bad credit auto loans may also require a down payment. If you do not have the money for a down payment, your only course of action is to find a different lender or improve your credit before applying for the loan. rience.

IT’S OFFICIAL: THE EXPERIMENT HAS FAILED

"For the best part of thirty years we have been conducting a vast experiment with the family, and now the results are in: the decline of the two-parent, married-couple family has resulted in poverty, ill-health, educational failure, unhappiness, anti-social behaviour, isolation and social exclusion for thousands of women, men and children."

The Name Squeeze - Should You? Shouldn't You?
This is a little “beauty” of an idea if you want to grow a massive list QUICKLY! But some are wary of trying it. They worry it turns customers away.Well here is what I think of that, if the person was never prepared to give you their email address in the first place then chances are they were just a tyre pusher not looking to buy anything from you anyways.I have tested both methods in a few different niches I have running. This is the type of result I received from using no “name squeeze” and actually using a “name squeeze”. I found that by using no name squeeze my sign up rate to my newsletter was around 20% when I started using a name squeeze I jumped up to 50%.Without a doubt this “name squeeze” begun to increase my sales dramatically. And not only through my emailing list but also from the initial “impulse buy”. From making my site so exclusive that you must enter an email address has made an impact on the “importance” of the hidden information that’s tucked away on the other page. When I saw these results I can assure you that any doubt I originally had of this “name squeeze” turning people off or turning them away quickly left my mind! If your not sure if the name squeeze for you, why don’t you at least trial and test it for a week or two or even split test it! I doubt you’ll be disappointed!© Joanne King - http://www.joesy.com

A Leadership Model for the Times
The vast percentage of all business startups and entrepreneurs fail.Of the few who survive long enough to become successful, less than a quarter of them make a successful transition to the second generation. As CEO of The Working Person’s Store, Eric Deniger is doing just that. Eric's leadership style illustrates what's critical in a 21st century business leader who is also a second-generation success story. The Working Person’s Store was established in 1995 with the sole mission of serving working people with a broad selection of work clothing, footwear, safety gear and accessories.Customers can purchase items at its flagship store in Lakeville, Indiana, its Industrial Shoe Mobile Division that visits area workplaces, and through its award-winning website located at workingperson.com.Steve Antisdel, COO, characterizes Deniger as, "a strong leader that's created a culture of performance at The Working Person’s Store." He further adds that Eric balances his staff’s accountability in providing superior customer service with "genuine personal concern for the entire staff". They come to him because they know he cares.""In the 21st Century, more and more organizational leaders have come to understand that happy, respected employees, empowered by their managers to meet and exceed customer expectations, provide the best service and feel more personally fulfilled by their work," comments Henry Barbey, director of the Center for Coaching and co-founder of Strategic Conversations".In fact, Deniger remembered to thank his staff when his Michigan-based e-commerce division was honored as one of the "Michigan 50 Companies to Watch."At the awards program, Deniger stated, "This is an honor I’m proud to share with every member of our tea

Radical as it may sound, Christ-centered fatherhood is the only way to rid this world of its current social pathology, regardless of the "political incorrectness" of such a notion. There is too much at stake to ignore this truth.

Happy Fathers Day, men! Let’s purpose to make THIS Father’s Day the day that we repented and made the Cause of Christ the motivation behind ALL our fathering efforts.

    Ok…I’ll go first.
