Downshifting essentially is the process of trading a high-speed, high pressure lifestyle for a simpler, more fulfilling way of life. For some people it may mean a change of job or career, but more often, it can involve a complete lifestyle change and relocation to a different part of the country or even emigration. However, its not a guaranteed key to happiness.

    Are you ready?

Ask yourself the following questions and answer them truthfully

    1) How would you feel about earning less money or living in a smaller home?

    2) Would you be willing to trade in your flashy car for something more practical?

    3) Do you have any financial commitments that would make it impossible to live on a lower income?

    4) Do you have skills or talents that could make self-employment an option?

Lets face it…we all sometimes wish we could ’have our cake and eat it’. The reality though, of successful downshifting, more often than not, means being able to adapt to your new lifestyle to make things work. Most ‘downshifters’ are only too happy to swap their ‘big house, 2 car’ lifestyle. Essential Wedding Planning Tips
Keep things in perspectiveAbove all else, the very first thing anyone planning a wedding must remember is to keep things clearly in perspective. The actual planning that is involved should be considered a part of the wedding itself, and therefore should be fun, enjoyable, and memorable. Also, no one wants to be remembered as a “Bridezilla” so try your absolute best to keep your emotions in check, mind your manners, and remember that everyone really is trying to help, or at least we hope so.Begin planning as soon as possibleWhile it may seem unnecessary to begin planning a wedding e

    Why Write Christian Articles?
Why should you write articles for a Christian audience? Christians everywhere are looking for good Christian web content, and when you write quality articles, you help provide that content. When you write Christian articles, you are providing yourself and your web site with web exposure. And when you write articles, you increase your own web credibility.1) There is a dearth of good Christian articles on the web. Perhaps because there is a perception that there is not as much profit in a Christian consumer (I happen to think the opposite---if you have a quality product, the Christian consumer

Practically, there are also things to consider and perhaps the biggest stumbling block is how to make the change if you have debts to pay. Large financial commitments won’t go away when you ‘downshift’ and it may well be harder to repay these with your new lower income. However, if you are a home owner and plan to relocate, you may be lucky. This might be just what you are looking for.

Many downshifters look to relocate to a different area of the country and most will look to an area where housing is cheaper….it makes good financial sense! Selling up your city home could make you ‘quids in’ if there is collateral in your property, especially with house price increases over the last two years. Your modest home in London that you sold for ?400,000 could very well get you off to a good start. With house prices doubling you could have ?200,000 collateral and this may buy you a modest rural home with a few acres in some parts of the UK! The profit you’ve made on your house sale could also be used to sensibly clear off debts, or provide a down-payment on your next home or be used as a nest egg too see you through those first 6 months while you find your feet in your new location.

Having cash capital will really help you on your journey but don’t give up if you don’t……your time goals may need to be changed but its not impossible. Make a start now and cut those credit cards up and get rid of as much debt as possible. You may think its impossible….its not.

    Ways of reducing debt

    * Move your high interest credit cards to a 0% APR card and then cut that one up as well.

    * Run a cheaper, more practical car…get rid of the flashy one. Your new one will save loads on cheaper insurance and cheaper parts. To hell with what the neighbours think when y
