There are things in my past that I do not like to remember. Some people live in the past; many people have wonderful memories. There are those who have a few good memories, and some who have none at all. It never seems to fail, when people live in the past, it does them harm. Unfortunately, to some it is devastating. We are living in the best times that history has ever known. We have all the conveniences, material things, and wealth that can be imagined.

In the past, depending on how far back you want to go, you may have walked, rode horses or a horse and buggy to get where you were going. This might hold some good memories for some, but I certainly would not want to go back there. Now we have cars, buses, trains and airplanes. I am sure that most will agree, living now is much better than in the past.

I would like to bring up a subject about Christian people who are still living in the past. Their minds are stuck in a rut. Their beliefs and their statements of faith are still the same as they were in the nineteen-thirties. All their children have been taught what they were taught to believe in the past. I guess at one time this was just fine. The day we are living in now is a day of change. Just like outside toilets and baths in a number three tub has changed to comfortable, temperature controlled, inside bathrooms.

Our statements of faith and Gods direction are changing. Right before our eyes we see things in our world changing everyday. Satan has never been worse than he is now. It is the last days and he is out to get our children, our grandchildren, our families and our friends. He will stop at nothing because he is not like us; he knows his time is short. He knows, because he is not living in the past, that through drugs, alcohol, broken homes, past hurts, child abuse, apathy, and he can keep our loved ones in such bondage they cannot find their way out. This movement has inflicted pain to the Christian world because a lot of Christian people are still stuck in the past. Churches are too busy fighting over their religious beliefs and their statements of faith to see that Jesus is trying to wind this whole thing up. He is coming soon! Unfortunately, we cannot get past what we believe is right, even if it causes our churches hurt and a loss of members.

I could go on and on about this subject, but the fact is, people are living with hurts that are destroying their minds, because they cannot get the past out of their future. Many came from a home where there was child abuse that caused them mental damage. Some have lost loved ones and have never been able to let go; now they live in loneliness. There are many things, in most peoples past, that in time could destroy them. I am glad, thank God, that He took my sins and cast them as far as the east is from the west. He has given me, through salvation, joy everlasting and peace that passes all understanding. The bible speaks of Gods ways being past finding out, and that he would do a new thing in our day. If we want to be part of it, we will need to always be thankful, holy, and ready for Christ to return. Let us make sure we have the joy in our relationship with Christ. There is nothing now, or ever, that can steal our joy if we keep a right relationship with Jesus, because He is everlasting.
