After about a week of unpacking boxes and learning how to get around in our new town, I became so aware that even God values our time spent on little things like finding a new health food store or a good place to find pet supplies.

It’s no secret that He values our time, especially when it comes to wasting it away on mindless things that do not glorify Him but bring pleasure only to ourselves. Yes, God wants us to have fun with our families and friends, sharing the many blessings provided by Him. And I think that is why, when we put our trust in Him and acknowledge Him in ALL our ways, He orchestrates even the smallest details.

There has been no question that we are right where God directed us to go. After much prayer and consideration, the general area was made clear to us. We then began looking at properties in the classifieds online and there came up about five places to consider. That would be a day’s worth of time spent traveling here and back with a few hours to make the appointments I’d set up. Because of our certainty that God is in control we really didn’t think it would take any longer and that we’d return that day with a new address, but soon learned that He had it all worked out even better than we thought. The house that I ‘just so happened’ to make the first appointment with turned out to be the one that we all agreed was a perfect fit for us. I think that Kevin would not have looked any further that day and the boys were pretty much convinced we’d be happy here. But I had to bring a little question into the picture by saying that maybe we should just look at the others to have something to compare to. It made common sense to me, but it really wasn’t God-sense! So He allowed us to ‘waste’ a couple of more hours driving around only to find that each of the other homes did not compare to what He had already accomplished for us! When we found two pelicans following our car most of the way down Indian River Drive to be quite a treat, they ended up leaving ‘their mark’ on our windshield. Well, that led to the car wash and the helpful and friendly manager there, who ended up being another lead for a business opportunity.

When we spend our time as God leads, His wisdom is so evident. I wouldn’t want to live outside of His will for a minute…do you?
