Added for You - How to Capture Your Thoughts
Can Social Bookmarking Help Me? y Capture Your thoughts? You have probably heard a lot about social bookmarking lately. As a matter of fact, you can spend hundreds of dollars right now just to find out what it's all about. Well, not here. I am giving you this information. I did the research and found this to be a super way to get more traffic to your site. The best news is, it's 100% FREE.What is Social Bookmarking? It's a public list of your favorites. Not all your favorites, just the favorites you want to share with others. You can add any website to your public list and retrieve it from any computer. (This is done on someone else's server, not your computer)When you list a site in your bookmark list, anyone looking for that same type of information can do a search at the bookmark site and find the sites that you have bookmarked. It is like a search engine without all the trash. When you do a search in a search engine, you get all the sites that have something to do with the keywords you typed into the search box. It is easy to get a bunch of garbage sites that are loaded up with keywords but have poor content on the actual site. The great thing about social bookmarking sites is the only sites you will find there are sites that other people have looked at and decided were worth saving for future reference. Real people have decided to save (bookmark) the sites, not robots. Real people also monitor the sites so if trash does get added, it is soon deleted. The more people who bookmark a site, the more popular it becomes. As an example, lets say you are selling widgets for a really great price. You bookmark your home page on many public bookmarking sites. When someone is looking for a widget, they do a search at the bookmarking site and your bookmark comes up. They go look at your site and decide your prices are so good, they might want to come back later when they need another widget. So they add your site to their bookmarks for future reference. When someon Your mind is a powerful computer that can do a great many things, but just like your home computer, your mind can only focus on a certain number of things at any given time. This is good advice provided it is done correctly and based on realistic expectations. The academic approach to writing a business plan typically includes conducting market research to determine the size of the potential market, characteristics of the competition and nature of the customer base. The entrepreneur usually gets in trouble when it comes to using this information to determine a revenue and profitability forecast. Taking a large potential market size and calculating the penetration needed to become profitable can lead to an unrealistic conclusion. It may seem very possible, for instance, to assume gaining 1% market share of a $100 million regional market in the first year. A first-year forecast of $1 million even looks like it would be a very conservative projection. The key question is “how?”A much more realistic approach is to work with the things the entrepreneur knows best about his venture. Determine the answers to the basic operating questions: how much advertising money does he have to spend; how many sales people he can afford to hire; how well known is the product or service; how easy will it be to convince a customer to buy; and how often will the customer re-purchase in a year. Then do a “bottom-up” forecast of the expected revenue and expenses for the first couple of years.• Advertising will reach the eyes of how many customers?• Each sales person can contract how many customers each week?• How many customers would have to be contacted before a sale is made?• After an initial sales call, how long should it take before the customer actually places an order and pays the invoice?• What is the average sales revenue per customer? As an example, the start up company can only afford to hire five sales people. The process of capturing your thoughts is one of the distinguishing hallmarks of great achievers. What Exactly do you Mean by “Capturing Your Thoughts?” The problem with thoughts and ideas is that they’re not tactile in nature, meaning that they don’t have any solid or tangible physical form to grasp onto. I can pick up a stapler and hold it in my hands and I know exactly what it is, but with a thought or an idea, it doesn’t come in a convenient form that I can put my hands around. Don’t try and place a San Francisco person in a New York promotion unless that person is from New York or currently lives in New York. A point of interest here centers on a promotion that is now being done with a member of the Hall of Fame. In our opinion, this was a very famous and recognizable person. We thought wrong. Before they ran the promotion we suggested that they test (always test ideas) our concept by sending out one hundred emails to their target customer demographic. We were astounded at what came back. Only three of the people in the test knew who the celebrity endorser was and only one could name what team he used to play on. The point to learn here: do not take a famous regional celebrity endorser and try and make a success of your promotion in a totally different region of the country. Folks, it just does not work and can be a very costly mistake. One major selling point of using ex-athletes is the fact that many of them still get significant press. While not playing in the game anymore they are often looked to for expert advice and opinions. When using TV and movie stars that have gracefully left the industry, many times they have had very little exposure for many years thus making it a tougher sell. You have toiled and spend many hours, days and possibly months' fine tuning, tweaking and adjusting to get it just right. You have uploaded your site to your hosting company and when you type in the website address, voila! there it is.But, lo, after a couple of weeks you decide to look for your website via some of the major search engines. Nothing appears and the cold sweat of realization hits you that you have made a mistake somewhere. Nothing could be further from the truth.Like most things in life when you get involved into something new, getting educated about your new endeavour gets in the way of just diving right into it. Well, to get results is going to take some learning, and fortunately there are some resources & strategies that are available to make this happen. Some of the key elements to get results are listed below; all these relate to an important aspect of getting people to your website, it is known as traffic. Keywords - Keywords are words that when used correctly can be listed on search engines using Pay-Per-Click advertising or Search Engine Optimisation and help promote traffic to your site. Try it yourself; type in "credit card" or "movies" look at the very top listed sites and those to the right of the screen, the results may surprise you!Pay-Per-Click - PPC can be used to instantly drive traffic from the first page of a search engine direct to your site. For example, if you have a travel booking service as your website using the keyword "Holiday In Australia" with a short description and your website address will allow people to go direct to your site. PPC costs you a fee everytime someone clicks on your keyword link. Also the more popular the keyword the more you have to bid on a higher price to get a higher position on a search engine. The benefit is it is instant traffic direct to your site. This can include the following:Do you know how many homebuyers use the Internet to find a home? You should if you want to sell your home in a reasonable amount of time. The answer is 71 percent.Viva La Internet Revolution! There has been a revolution over the last five years in the real estate industry. It is called the Internet. Long gone are the days of buyers wasting weekends driving around looking at homes. Now, they sit at their desks and view homes on the Internet. If your home isn't on the net, there is a good chance a person interested in your home will never find it.When listing your home for sale, you'll be able to provide a bevy of information to potential buyers. Essentially, you'll get to provide everything you would in a typical MLS listing such as bedrooms, bathrooms, garages, appliances, price, square footage, contact information and so on. There is, however, one major advantage to listing on an online real estate site compared to regular MLS listings – photographs. The key to selling any piece of real estate is curb appeal. Curb appeal is simply the notion that the first view of a home is the key to making a sale. Using online sites, you can create curb appeal that will have a buyer running for the car keys.Photographs are the key to making this happen. You should only list your home on sites that allow you to upload at least 10 photographs. The photographs should highlight the best aspects of the home as well as unique characteristics a buyer isn't going to find anywhere else. Buyers drive to homes to get a first impression. They sit in their bathrobe, drink coffee and click away. A buyer who likes what he or she sees in your photographs is already half way to making an offer. If you don’t upload photographs, you are wasting your time listing your house anywhere. The Internet revolution in the real estate industry is charging ahead at a full steam. Don’t get left behind! • Writing your thoughts down on paper Why Capture Your thoughts? The FAA now wants to regulate Space Flight in the entire Galaxy and the Universe and probably all 13 dimensions? And the Lawyers are loving it as they see a new market as well to sue people in. You can bet lawyers will find a way to sue the up and coming new Commercial Space Ventures. The Federal Aviation administration has been making rules and stifling free market innovation for far too long. Like any BS bureaucracy, now the FAA wants to expand to become the “Inter-galactic Regulatory Federation Star Fleet Command Rule Makers” and to boldly put rules and regulations where no man has gone before. Some might laugh at all this, but it is not funny, who do you think is going to pay for all this rule making; us, the taxpayers. This is your fine government at work stifling a fledgling industry as it is just getting off the ground. Setting up barriers to entry rather than letting free enterprise work out the bugs first. We cannot trust regulatory bodies, as all they do is make rules to help lawyers sue and thus turn over entire industries to the sharks. We must tell the FAA to take a hike and clip their wings, they are not serving the forward progression of the species. They more resemble lead weights attached to lightweight high-tech material, which will be needed to press on. Any Politician worth their salt would tell the FAA to stick it and do what best and right by the American People and the future of innovation and commercialization of space. Think on this in 2006. Your mind is a powerful computer that can do a great many things, but just like your home computer, your mind can only focus on a certain number of things at any given time. Rarely do we ever forget anything, but it’s more the case that we didn’t place an importance or priority on that information at the time it was presented to us and so it got buried along with all the other bits and pieces of extraneous non-important information that we store in our subconscious minds. By capturing our thoughts, we insure that they don’t fall through the cracks and get lost. A single good thought can be worth millions of dollars or it can single-handedly produce a significant and meaningful change in your life. You simply can’t afford to lose any of these precious thoughts just because you didn’t have a way to capture them. Once you have your thoughts on paper, you can manage your thoughts just as you would any physical item because now it’s something that can be physically manipulated within your environment. That’s why I’m a huge advocate of thinking on paper. The advantages are enormous. Here’s a list of reasons why you should capture your thoughts. 1. Lost thoughts are like wasted money. I can’t put it any simpler than this: “Thoughts are money.” Imagine that money was pouring from the sky and you wanted to collect that money, but all you had was a straw to channel it into your bottle. A lot of that money would be wasted. Now imagine the same scenario, but this time you had a wide funnel to channel all that money into your bottle. You’d be many times richer using the funnel than the straw, right? The same holds true with re
