Success Tips From Rugby Union and Sevens Rugby - Avoid 'Gesture' Tackles
In the game of rugby union, fifteen players take the field to score tries for their team i.e. place the ball over the line at the far end of the field in 'enemy' territory. In American football, just crossing the line with the ball is enough.Scoring tries is the glamorous part of rugby union and it usually involves one of the seven backs who run fast and free

Some of the fighting videos that I’ve found have covered everything from barroom brawling to basic self-defense to advanced martial arts, fighting skills. Now, I won’t advocate any one fighting video over another for two reasons.

    1) I have no idea which style of fighting would best fit your mindset and your abilities.

    Harold Ford Ad Nothing
There has been a lot of talk regarding Senator wannabee, Harold Ford, from Tennessee. He is in a very tight race with his Republican challenger, Bob Corker. The usual election stuff comes out with ridiculous claims or hyping up some things and downplaying other things. It is common in any race and if it did not involve an important job- US Senator- the ads would be g
I’ve spent a number of years studying self-defense and I still find myself fascinated by the martial arts. It all started when I was a teenager and I was watching a demonstration where an elderly man was up against two large bodybuilders in their mid 20s. These two young men took turns attacking the old man, but he just kept throwing them around the stage like a couple of rag dolls.

One of the younger men charged at the old man like a bulldozer trying to knock down a building, but with a slight lean to one side and what seemed like a gentle tap on the shoulder, the older man sent the younger one tumbling to the ground. After about ten minutes, the two young bodybuilders were worn out while the old man hadn’t even broken a sweat.

Well, that was the beginning, and more than 30 years later, I’m not in as good a shape as I used to be I still love the martial arts and street fighting skills. Not the brute force fighting style of bullies, but the authentic techniques of genuinely skilled fighters.

I believe that everyone who’s physically able should take at least a few self-defense classes in their lifetime. It’s not only good exercise but it could also come in use some day for saving your life. But I also realize that not everyone has the time, discipline, or money to regularly attend a martial arts class.

In recent years I’ve come across a large number of instructional fighting videos. There are also some great books on self-defense that can teach you the basic philosophies of the fighting mindset, and even a few moves that may prove useful. But some of the instructional fighting videos that I’ve seen lately have really expanded my education by showing the actual fighting moves in action. (Please note that while I call them videos, most of the newer ones that I’ve found have actually been on DVDs, not videotape)

While these fighting videos are not a substitute for proper teaching by a qualified instructor, they do help teach a number of useful, self-defense techniques. And for the experienced martial artist or street fighter, instructional fighting videos can enhance your skills and possibly even teach you something new to add to your fighting skills.
