Don't Buy Affiliate Project X – the Hype, the Hoopla, the Scam there are many football players who have played the game but very, very few will ever play in the NFL. Which brings me to my next point...Product Review of Affiliate Project X : Affiliate Marketing at it's best or worst - you decide! The Hype Let me be perfectly clear. When I received an email to purchase Affiliate Project X, I deleted it from my inbox! I promised myself that I wasn’t going to buy one more worthless product that wasn't going to put any money in my pocket. The Hoopla Are you like me? Fed up with all of the internet marketing ads that flood into your inbox? Are you tired of the endless ‘opportunities’ that arrive on a daily basis to your email? I am so tired of every click flip, uncut, jerk this, butterfly that, tag, ping, money making scheme designed to make someone else rich. The Scam I was fully prepared to live my life without Project X. Then two of my friends, who make their living on the internet, started calling to tell me how great Project X is. They raved on and on until I finally relented and bought Project X. In the back of my mind I'm thinking that I'll just do this to prove them wrong, give it a try for 8 weeks and then get my money back. The Truth I'm here to tell you – I admit it, I was WRONG! Project X is the first product in a long time that delivers on it’s promises! It's not only great for seasoned marketers but also for newbies just starting out. Often internet marketing products are either designed for total ‘newbies’ and are paced way too slow for seasoned marketers. The same is true on the flip side. Products developed to challenge experienced marketers, are expected to move along at a fast clip and divulge lots of ‘never before seen’ tips and tricks. Project X does both seamlessly. And I never felt I was being talked ‘down to’ or that anything was ‘over my head’. It’s very rare to find a product that can do both. The author, Chris, offers six ‘secret methods’ to launch yourself headfirst into affiliate marketing. Of the six, one i There's something to be Said for Talent Let's be honest: many martial arts masters, regardless of style, are very talented people both mentally and physically and would probably be good at almost anything they decided to put their minds to. Many have heard me pontificate on these points at various times, however, I think it's important to share this information with others to hopefully help them focus their training in order to improve upon the quality of their workouts especially when they train on their own. This piece doesn't get into any specific training methods but merely highlights "philosophically" the importance of practicing the exercises on your own. For a more detailed reading please refer to our book Attack Proof. You hear people talk about credit reports all the time but do you know what they are really all about? Well, if you have ever been turned down when applying for a credit card or a loan it is high time you learned all about your credit report and how you can get it working for you instead of against you.Let's start off by explaining what your credit report actually is. Your credit report is a public record of all of the transactions concerning any money you may gave borrowed in the past. Any payments that you make on time or late, will show up on this report as well. Any tax liens or bankruptcies are on there as well. Your credit report even notes each time your report has been requested by someone or some company. The reason that this report is so important is that this is how most lenders make their decision about whether you are a good credit risk or not. If you have a history of not paying your debts, they are obviously not going to want to give you any money because they know they will have a hard time getting it back from you. If you have poor credit you will find it difficult to get any credit cards or loans, even employers and landlords are accessing credit reports these days.Everyone should request a copy of his or her report at least once a year. This is a simple task, all you need to do is contact one of the three major credit reporting agencies and ask them for a copy. This will not cost you anything but the copying expense and the stamp. You can contact these agencies online at:Experian (located at www.experian.com)Trans Union (located at www.transunion.com)Equifax (located at www.equifax.com)It is a good idea to get a report from all three of these agencies because they are not always the same. Once you get your report you will want to check it over for any errors or discrepancies. If you find any be sure to contact your creditors righ Like many of our students I've studied many martial arts systems over the years and while I was able to develop a degree of skill, like others I often felt that while cool looking, many of the techniques would be useless in a real confrontation. This is because many of the skills taught in about 99% percent of the martial arts systems are based on a reality and a dynamic of fighting that does not exist in the real world. As we all know by now real fights are not "duels" like in the dojo and the speed and ferocity of real attacks are lightning fast and drastically contrast with choreographed attacks, which often resemble the types of attacks that only happen in bad low-budget "B" movie. Usually, (like always) when a real attack goes down, the odds are in favor of the attacker(s), and not by accident. Criminals want to above all else, win, and are not bound to any rules or code of honor. I think everyone on this reading list will agree with that statement. Respectful Disrespect What is meant by "respectful disrespect" is that when you look at the movement of the masters within many systems and observe how they move, regardless of the system they all share a few things in common. The masters all seem to be better balanced, more supple and relaxed in their movements, their timing is always better and their coordination is generally far superior to that of their average students. Much of this as they will tell you is a byproduct of either practicing the forms over-and-over or from performing the striking drills until the point of physical exhaustion. However, if that were true then you should within reason see the same thing in the majority of their students but often just the opposite is true. In other words what they're saying and what they're actually doing are two different things. This is not to say that they do not train their butts off, because they do. Even in sport fighting, in order to perform the moves, an incredible amount of hours are needed in order to master the techniques, so do not misunderstand what I am saying here. However, because real fighting is such a different dynamic all together, the skill needed to make such techniques work is at such a high level that very few people (including yours truly) could ever make them work when the spit hits the fan. To put it another way, there are many football players who have played the game but very, very few will ever play in the NFL. Which brings me to my next point... I think everyone on this reading list will agree with that statement. In the multi-billion dollar promotional products industry, corporations bought a record breaking 11.9 billion dollars worth of promotional products in 2006 alone. The promotional products industry has been around for over 100 years and has grown into one of the most utilized forms of advertising available in today’s marketplace. Just look around you, even in your own home, take note of how many promotional products you see and use everyday. Promotional products are quite possibly the longest lasting advertisement a business can utilize and should be an integral part of any marketing campaign. Used in just about any promotion or marketing plan, promotional products will add longevity with the use of unique and customized items displaying a logo or message with staying power.Successful companies today, both large and small, use promotional products in integrated marketing to enhance relationships with their customers as well as employees. One of the most cost effective tools for getting their message out and building business success is the use of custom imprinted promotional products, also known as advertising specialties. Even non-profit organizations and government agencies are using custom imprinted products to increase awareness and improve relations with contributors and constituents more than ever.Another one of the great values of imprinted promotional products is their ability to carry a message to a well-defined audience. Because today’s promotional products are more useful and appreciated by the recipients, they are retained, often for extended periods of time, and used again and again. Higher perceived value, combined with the low cost, serve to enhance the ability to meet or exceed the desired result of any ad campaign through the use of custom imprinted promotional products. The recipients will utilize these and when they do they will see your message ove Respectful Disrespect What is meant by "respectful disrespect" is that when you look at the movement of the masters within many systems and observe how they move, regardless of the system they all share a few things in common. Now the question remains where in the world can I look for such people? The answer to that my friend is not always an easy one, but here's a source that I've used in the past successfully yet often goes untapped. SCORE is the Service Corp Of Retired Executives. These folks are a resource partner for the U.S. Small Business Administration. The best part is that they have local offices in just about any area you can imagine. I've used the organization in the past and can honestly say they make a great addition to just about anyone's personal network. In essence we get the chance to learn from those who have gone before us. Best of all these are folks who have walked the walk. I never have really understood why the resource isn't fully taken advantage of except that perhaps many aren't aware of it. Well consider yourself in the know. Have a look at their site at http://www.score.org .Another source can be found in the many online bulletin or message boards (my own site being one). Depending on what topic you're looking for you'll surely find a good community of folks you can get plugged into. I personally take part in several online communities and have found it to be an excellent way to share and learn from each others experiences. As with any thing, take what you can from it, but from there make your own final decision. Any healthy mentoring scenario is one in which the persona being mentored is a active part in the process. They have therefore subconsciously developed these skills and I believe many are unaware that they are even doing it. So no matter what they say they are doing, their actual movements often reveal the truth as to what is really going on. And that is what you need to be aware of. A Grand Master of Tae Kwon Do may be able to kick someone in the head in a real street fight but for the average practitioner that action is not going to happen. So while there are things that the master can do through physical ability and talent, the rest of us are going to have to figure out something else. Their students try to mimic the master based on what they "outwardly" observe, never realizing that until they develop the internal skills as explained in Attack Proof and various books on the internal arts, their physically ability will only carry them but so far. This is what separates sport fighting from real principles of self defense. Sport fighting, due to the rules, limits what one can do and as a result requires a higher degree of physical skill and talent in order the make the techniques work, whereas real self-defense techniques, because they rely on sound principles, are universally applicable regardless of body type, which is why we focus most of our effort on training in the PRINCIPLES rather than techniques that require great physical skill. "The most well made tools are worthless in the hands of those who are unskilled in their use." --Alexander The Great The quote given by Alexander The Great is just as true today as it was then and no tool, no matter how well made, is of any use unless you have some skill behind it. As I always say, owning a hammer doesn't make you a carpenter. I want to turn out carpenters that can draw a tool from their bag of tricks and have the skill to use it. Since the fight is "what it is" you must be able to adapt as quickly as the fight can change. You must be able to deliver the chaos as well as control it. Understand that we are "Brand X" martial arts so we build the foundation rooted in principles of human physiology and physics, we then hard wire in the skills and then provide you with the tools so that any tool that you place in your hand can be instantly applied for whatever purpose at the time you need it. I once asked Master Perkins (he hates it when I call him that) about how Master Carron became so good. The answer was simple, he practiced everyday in the exercises and skills, sometimes for hours at a time. By the same token I'm often asked by students, "How can I improve my skills?" My usual answer is, "Do you do the exercises?" I usually get either a "no," or that "deer in the headlights" stare, which reveals the sin of omission in their training. I wish I could tell people something different but like anything in life whatever you put into something you generally reap what you have sown, and the ability to develop the attributes needed for real fighting or at least to deal with the kind of violence that visits people everyday on our streets is no different. While there's no substitute for training with another person, I've personally found that solo practice is equally important and usually it is the missing piece of the puzzle in one's training.
