Utopia? Imagine a Community with Free Fundraising
I close my eyes and imagine how free my community would feel if all of its fundraising needs were consistently met. Every child could be adequately clothed, nutritiously fed, and attending a well-equipped school. Local sports teams, the Boy Scouts, etc. could be more affordable – maybe even free -- for struggling families. My hospital could have more beds, staff and equipment which would mean reduced waiting time for scheduled surgeries, or in their emergency waiting rooms. Local cancer clinics, respite care, and health research projects could all improve the quality of life for my whole community, thanks to adequate funding for salaries, research, and maintenance. They could even save more lives.I could go on and on; the list is endless. But you get the picture. An adequate supply of funds, on a continuing basis, would make everyone’s lif

The Formula - What To Do If Your Notes Go Missing While Giving A Speech
This is a story about when I forgot to take up my notes to the lectern when I got up to speak to University students. I got though the situation by have a bit of fun with the audience, connected with them, have a bit of a laugh. I have included a formula for creating the situation into a bit of fun and connecting with the audience.This story happened many years ago when I was invited to speak and preach to a group of students at Griffith University. When I got up to go to the lectern I did not realise that I left my notes on the chair at the back of the room, in the centre of the lecture theatre. I was teaching on spiritual matters, giving them a sermon on the word of God.About half way through, I forgot what the next point was and as I walked back to the lectern to check my notes, and they were not there and I could not see them anywhere. No one likes to hit a slicing ball, unless, of course, it is a part of your shot plan. Generally, though, we don't like them. A slice is usually a weak shot that ends up right of your target, which is all to common among amateur golfers, and many old pros too. Some of the more common causes for a slice are:A Weak Grip - A weak grip is when your hands are turned to the left (if you are a right-handed golfer) so that the "V's" formed by the thumb and forefinger point at, or to, the left of your chin.
