On Saturday, there was a re-enactment of an army camp in the Durance car park, comprising seven jeeps, two tanks, several tents and an old car purportedly used by the Freedom French Fighters. And in the evening there was a ball in the Parc de la Schappe featuring the music of Glen Miller.
On Sunday there were more celebrations including a parade of military vehicles down the Gargoyles in the Citadel and a handing over of a plaque by the memorial at the bottom, commemorating the death of two American soldiers who lost their lives during the liberation.
