From Problems to Possibilities-Get Out of Your Old Story to Get On With the New! atching a day, these units would last a decade, which is good value for the extra cash one has to hand out for their purchase.I love a good story and I know I’m not alone. The evil villain, the adventurer or the sheer power of words captivate us and leave us wanting more. We join bookclubs to share our thoughts on the stories we’ve read. Great stories aren’t just in books and movies. We’re writing machines! Many of us self-publish our stories daily. If only we got paid for these stories. We do get compensated and it comes in the form of negative stress and overwhelm in our lives. The stories we write range from small vignettes to the script for a feature length film. Take super-mom for example....super-mom lives in the story that she needs to do everything perfectly for everyone and often puts herself aside. The main character is both the hero and the victim at the same time. Or how about...I’ll be happier when I have more money, more time – fill in your own blanks. I’ve had a few clients who, as the main character in their own story, got so caught up in the details of the story - their day to day work - they somehow missed out on getting to what was really important to themself as the main character.Stories like these do serve a purpose. They keep us busy ‘doing’ things so we can avoid ‘being’. They protect us from taking responsibility for what’s going on. They protect us from the possibility of failure or better yet, success or change. When we’re the main character in the story it’s often hard to write our way out. There is a way out! Write a new story that helps you create exactly the life you deserve.Three simple steps can help you get beyond the story and eventually eliminate them so that you make better use of your time, have happier and healthier relationships and get more or what you want.Step 1. Notice that you’re in the story….. With compassion for yourself, you may have been the main character for so long you’ve forgotten what it’s like to be outside of the story. Sounds like a simple step and it is. The key to making any lasting changes is awareness.Step 2. How is it serving you? What’s the story all about? Don’t be overly analytical here. The story likely makes you feel a certain way. What’s the feeling attached to the story? What’s the truth? What do you know for sure?Step 3. Give yourself full permission to let go and let the real story unfold.Make a choice....stay in the old story or rewrite the next chapter. How would you like things to be different, what’s the step you could take in this moment that moves you in that direction? So what’s your old story? Is it helping you to live the life you deserve? Does your story hold you, The advantages enjoyed by the LCD television over the regular televisions and others are due to the technology that makes LCDs possible, and we need to understand what drives this technology in order to realize the benefits LCDs promise. An LCD display consists of picture elements or pixels, and the quality of resolution on an LCD panel partially owes to the number of pixels carried by the display: the higher the number of pixels, the better the resolution and the sharper the display. For different models the number of pixels can range from hundreds of thousands of pixels to millions of pixels. LCD televisions are better suited for widescreen pictures such as DVD and Septic Systems - A Short Story Obviously price variations of LCDs would depend on screen-size, differences in display quality, screen resolution and a host of other factors, including, but not limited to, the brand name. LCD televisions are now available at increasingly lower prices, and the smaller units are available for as low as two hundred dollars with several retailers. But the upper range still runs into tens of thousands of dollars and the biggest LCDs for home theaters come at steep prices. What would inspire me to write about septic systems? Maybe it's part in parcel with my fascination with composting and recycling? Maybe I'm just a garbage hound at heart! No - seriously, it's more that my travels as a home inspector have led me to focus on these delightful systems. I don't think I'll ever opt for a career in septic inspection, but I have gained a basic understanding of what constitutes a normal, functioning sewage disposal system.Installing a private septic for a rural home includes soil tests, site inspections and considerable excavation work. Because of the design considerations and the amount of digging required, you probably wouldn't want to build your own; but to maintain it properly, you should know how it operates. Waste is piped out of the house into one side of a cement box called a septic tank, where bacteria break it down into solids (sludge), liquid (effluent), and scum. The sludge sinks to the bottom, the scum floats to the top, and the effluent flows into the other side, and then out through perforated pipes (drainage tile) buried in a leaching bed of loose gravel (also known as the septic field)."Sewage and The Law!"Government regulations specifically prohibit any renovations or additions to a home which are likely to affect the operation or effectiveness of a sewage system. If you're on a septic, adding a bedroom to your house (even without adding a bathroom) might mean having to increase the size of your tank and field. The regulations further state that any construction or alteration of a septic requires a Certificate of Approval issued by the Ministry or department responsible. If you have questions about the care and operation of your septic system, call your Municipal Office, Health Department, Environment Canada, or any licensed sewage contractor listed in the Yellow Pages. There's no hard and fast rule for pumping intervals, but an inspection and pump-out every third year are recommended. Don't allow meat by-products or harsh chemicals to enter your septic, and avoid the use of commercial tank cleaners or treatments. Don't plant trees on the field, and never drive over it!By the way, greener grass over the septic is NOT usually a good sign!Visit the RotoRooter website for more info about plumbing, sewage, and septic systems. A majority of the customers belong to the middle range of 23” to 40” screen size, which generally come at nearly $1,000 to just under $3,000. Some of the biggest manufacturers of electronic goods present televisions with LCD technology such as Samsung, Sony, Sharp, Phillips, Panasonic and Toshiba; even computer manufacturers Dell have taken an interest in this field and have come up with a model that has created quite a stir. Though the televisions with LCD technology are tagged exorbitantly, much higher than the regular tube models, there are several reasons why that extra cash pays off, the most important of which are outlined below: Totally Flat Screens: Traditional CRT televisions have a curvature built into their display screens and this could cause edge distortion, as well as shadows on the screen. But this is not the case with the LCD screen, its truly flat surface is able to remove any edge distortion and thus delivers a more reliable and true-to-life display. Genuine Widescreen Performance: The LCD televisions carry a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9, which is more like a theater screen than a television display. This means that the height of the screen is 9 inches and the width is 16 inches, making its length almost double its width which gives the viewer a feel of being in a theater. The current HDTV signals follow this aspect ratio, as do widescreen DVDs and VHS videos. Better Viewing Angle: Unlike other televisions like rear projection technology DLPs, LCD televisions come with a 160 degree viewing angle, and can possibly be seen without any distortion from any angle at all. Superb Color Accuracy: The superior quality LCD displays can produce approximately 16 million unique colors, generating a remarkable depth of color that ensures excellent and accurate colors. Flexibility and Versatility: A lot of the LCD televisions are geared to function with inputs from several different devices, which may include but are certainly not limited to DVD players, VCRs, Laser Disc players and of course, satellite and cable TV systems. Moreover, there are multi-system LCD displays, which are geared to function with a range of several television signals, which includes PAL, NTSC and SECAM. This enables the same unit to be perfectly functional in several countries, because it can accept the different television broadcast standards that prevail in different parts of the world. Superior Reliability Quotient: It has been established through various tests that the expected lifetime of an LCD is approximately 35,000 hours, which at the average rate of four hours of television-viewing time per day, works out to nearly 20 years. Even at eight ours of television-watching a day, these units would last a decade, which is good value for the extra cash one has to hand out for their purchase. I attended an event last weekend and the speaker was saying one thing and a member of the audience asked a question and they kept going around and around and not connecting at all. I observed this and could see each point of view and how a bridge of communication could be built, but each was lost in their own way of saying it and could not connect. Begin to observe how one person says one thing with their own interpretation and the listener hears it from their own perspective and it might mean something completely opposite. I truly marvel at how we seem to agree at all!Did you know that everything you hear goes in and gets sorted, filtered, deleted and stored according to your own belief system based on your memories? You cannot even hear or see fully. Think of times that someone made a comment to you and it brought up the pain of the past, or cut right to your heart and soul. They did not intend for that to happen. You just had your buttons pushed based on some memory that was triggered. The comment could be as innocent as, “Do you really need to do that?” That question in itself is neutral. Taken out of context, it is just an inquiry. When your significant other or parent, or whoever is the button pusher for you says it, especially about that one hot topic, you are off and running. Your mind is creating pain, anger, resentment and a host of emotions. It sounds like, “What does she mean do I really need to do that? She knows I can’t help it. She always puts me down. She never supports what I want. She is so selfish.” And on and on it goes.Once in that mode, the mind can go on forever. And you feel bad, and you get hurt and you get angry. And you have a disagreement, or resentment. Have you ever thought of just stopping at that moment the question is asked? Taking a deep breath and calmly asking, ‘What did you say? Please explain to me what you meant with that question and I will answer. I seem to be confused and need clarification.” In that one moment with that one question you can stop the pattern you have created long ago. You can take back your power and feel better. Just imagine how that one question, asked from genuine inquiry, can change the whole dynamic of the relationship. If the pattern has been that when that person asked that question, they know they are cutting to your core and you allow it, you have the power to change it.Begin to notice how you communicate. Do you have key questions or comments that push others buttons? Does it seem like you Though the televisions with LCD technology are tagged exorbitantly, much higher than the regular tube models, there are several reasons why that extra cash pays off, the most important of which are outlined below: Totally Flat Screens: Traditional CRT televisions have a curvature built into their display screens and this could cause edge distortion, as well as shadows on the screen. This enables the same unit to be perfectly functional in several countries, because it can accept the different television broadcast standards that prevail in different parts of the world.Toric contact lenses are a special kind of contact lens specially designed to correct the vision of millions who suffer from astigmatism.Astigmatism, or stigmatism as many people know it, is the result of having corneas or lens that are oblong in shape rather than the normal round shape that people with perfect vision have. It is predominantly an inherited trait, but it can also be caused by over correction during laser surgery. People who have astigmatism may experience blurred vision and headaches. What toric lenses do is provide a correction that compensates for the shape of the cornea. Since contacts float on top of the eye and turn as you blink, a toric has a small, invisible weight at the bottom of each lens that constantly helps the contact rotate back into the proper position needed to provide the wearer with clear vision. This makes it important for wearers of torics to do the following to ensure their lenses float freely:* Blink frequently to rewet the eyes.* Use rewetting drops as needed to resolve dry eye issues.* Keep contacts clean and free of debris or buildup which may throw off the balance of the lens on the eye.Because of the added correction for astigmatism in toric lenses, they typically cost more than the average contact lens and are often made of a more sturdy material. Additionally, many find that wearing torics for extended periods results in discomfort and blurred vision because they cannot keep their contacts wet enough to float freely on the eyes. Another cause is the buildup that naturally occurs from wearing contacts created by the counterweight, which keeps the lens from staying in the position needed for proper correction. The best way to decide whether toric contact lenses are right for you is to discuss it with your optometrist who may also be able to provide you with a free trial pair of disposable torics before you make your final decision. This will allow you to wear a pair for a while before spending your money on a product that may not work for you. It’s all around us, and once you try it, it’s so easy to end up wanting it again. After all, there aren’t many things in this world which can compare to the relaxing, creamy, sensual experience of chocolate. So, what are you and I to do? I have the same problem to deal with because I like Whatchamacallit bars and a good cheeseburger every now and then. Ideally, the solution is to gather together all the will power you have, and force yourself to stay away from junk-foods for at least one week and begin doing cardiovascular exercise 5 days a week.Well, too bad. Not everyone has time to do that, – especially people like us who have to do the 9-5 day just to put food on the table – so we need another solution… something you can do more gradually, and without taking up much time. You must identify your junk-food hours. Start by putting an index card in your wallet or purse. Keep track of times in the day when you really want to hit the candy machine, coke machine, or the bags full of crunchy potato chips – anything that interferes with your good eating habits. For many of us, this time is usually mid-afternoon, but for others like me, it’s around 10pm-12am. Oh yeah… what a bad time to load up on carbs!Track your self for a week using the notecard. If you have time, please share your progress or your life with us over at PhenForum.com. We really need more members to help our community flourish. If you’re up for it, expect a warm welcome! For different models the number of pixels can range from hundreds of thousands of pixels to millions of pixels. LCD televisions are better suited for widescreen pictures such as DVD and VHS movies along with traditional television programs because it has an aspect ratio of 16:9, that is 16” in width and 9” in height as against the traditional CRT models which use an aspect ratio of 4:3. Aspect ratio of a television is a term that relates to its capabilities to suitably display movies and television programs in the true widescreen format, it is actually the ratio between the length and height of a television. HDTV signals are broadcast using the 16:9 aspect ratio and it is also applied by manufacturers of widescreen DVDs and VHS tapes. This widescreen aspect ratio enables viewers of LCD televisions to enjoy a truly intense cinematic experience, not unlike one in a theater. When shopping for an LCD, one should be considering a variety of aspects, which would include the tuner the set would have to use. The LCD set ought to be capable of working with inputs from a variety of different tuning sources, including satellite TV boxes, cable TV boxes, DVD players, VCRs and so on. For potential buyers who move residences between different geographical areas often, it is necessary to ensure that the LCD television chosen is capable of working with NTSC video signals, which are the usual standard in North America and Japan, as well as the PAL and SECAM standards used in other parts of the world. It is definitely important to buy the best LCD your money can get, which not only means that you should try and get the best you can afford when you are on the look-out for an LCD, but also that you get the best value for your dollars. If you shop around enough, physically as well as on the internet, sooner or later you would find a deal which gives you the best quality at the lowest price possible. When you invest as much money on a device as you do on an LCD, you would naturally expect top-level performance. But if you use inferior quality connecting cables with an LCD, you would be disappointed, because this directly affects picture quality. So you might want to spend a little extra and get the best cables that money can buy to connect your LCD to your DVD player, VCR, game console, computer or other device for a fantastic display and an incredible viewing experience. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All you should know about plasma television technology Though the last twenty years have seen great advancements in the world of television technology; it is the plasma television that has captured the imagination and attention of the masses. This technology has come a long way since the July of 1964, when it was at first the product of a research by the University of Illinois. These true flat screen monitors entered the market with exorbitant price tags beyond the reach of all but the wealthy few individuals and businesses, because the original plasma screens were comparatively smaller in size, and the raw materials for their manufacture were expensive. But technological advancement is a great leveler, especially when combined with the falling prices of raw materials: the prices of plasma displays have plummeted quite a few notches in the past few years and are more reasonable today than ever before.
