    Leadership Prep
So you want to be a leader? Or you want to be a better leader? It can be done, you know. No matter where you are in your leadership journey, you CAN move forward. You CAN lead better. You CAN lead more people. You CAN lead your organization to higher ground.Yes, you CAN!But let me tell you this: You won’t do it via osmosis! It won’t just “happen.” Growing

    The Writer's Journey
The writer’s journey is paved with bumpy roads, sharp curves and a lot of dead-ends. If you write to live you are probably paying the rent. If you live to write, probably someone else is paying the rent. Having done both I believe that if you are doing what fulfills you, nature will support you and you will succeed. The true blessing, however, is when you are
Behind me were clouds of a large hailstorm breaching the outer edge of the town where we live. Reports of hail the size of tennis balls come into my cell phone from family living in close by towns that were hit by the storm. Winds were picking up and as I drove the new minivan up the driveway frantically pressing the button on garage door opener. As the door slowly raised to where I was able to start pulling in the van I realized something…

You see my wife and were horrible pack rats and were not too swell at organization either. Well, earlier that day I crammed just a few more boxes of stuff we "needed" to get rid of as well as a box or two of stuff we "may need" in the future. Yet we seem to always "need" to get rid of stuff but never do and never "needed to use" any of the stuff we "had" to save. As you can guess I realized there was a need for change. It

Double the Effectiveness of Your Company Brochure
Let's face it - most brochures go straight into the bin. But if you know the big mistake to avoid, as well as the secret to make people keep your brochure - and read it, over and over again - you're laughing. The big mistake I'm talking about is that brochures too often focus on the company itself. They describe, in great detail, the company's commitment to excel

The Light that Shines in Darkness
I was sitting in a parking lot the other day and noticed that a street light was on. It was a bright and beautiful day and I thought to myself, why is that light on? They really need to turn that light off. For some reason it agitated me. Maybe I thought it was a waste of power, or that it really served no purpose being on in the day time. A light is really needed for

Term Verses Whole Life – When it Comes to Life Insurance it Pays
There has been an age old battle between the virtues of term life insurance verses whole life insurance. The proponents of term life insurance often lead with the argument that it would be better to buy term insurance and invest the difference. The whole life advocates attack the temporary nature of term insurance and are skeptical about people investing properly to ac

Home Business - What Is A Good Niche, Anyway?
There’s a lot of talk about niche marketing on the internet. And with good reason – there is good money in the niches. But only if you can find a "good" niche.Without getting that right, your business is unlikely to be particularly profitable. So what is a GOOD niche? What are the indicators that a niche is "good", which for marketer
seem to always "need" to get rid of stuff but never do and never "needed to use" any of the stuff we "had" to save. As you can guess I realized there was a need for change. It was time to get that garage cleaned out since I couldn't get the van all the way in! Especially at a time I desperately needed to. So I was about to learn a lesson at the price of a hail-damaged minivan.

After that dreadful experience my wife and I did get that garage cleaned out and organized, and we have kept it that way for years now. All it took were a few simple rules.

Rule 1: Anything we determine we don't need will immediately be removed. A garage sale never happens at our house (we never "get to it") so we needed to get rid of the stuff some other way. We decided that charities and the local goodwill stores would be our first stop before the dump. May as well let other'
