When I tactfully tell her it's not even 6.00 and to go and find something to do, she grumpily decides to watch television for a short while while I go back to sleep. At first, a great idea until the cable box decides not to work. Trying to ignore the whinging, I finally give in and trudge downstairs muttering under my breath. So, finally a quiet child and I drift off back to sleep, until that it is I am awoken by an almighty thump thanks to my cat. He then starts his 'feed me' routine. I try to ignore him and he settles down on my legs for a minute then decides enough is enough. A tentative paw investigates the possibility of getting any food by scratching my face and trying to sit on my head. Looking at the clock it is now.. only 5.25am. I get up feed the cat head back to bed again. Of course by now my daughter is raring to go and starts demanding breakfast.
