Car Wash Fundraisers; To Vacuum or Not to Vacuum - That is the Question
If you are doing a car wash fundraiser for a youth group, baseball team or even a high school band then you will want to wash as many cars as possible during the car wash fundraiser Saturday. To increase the number of cars washed and to keep the flow of cars that are washed moving through the line it makes sense to only offer simple services. This means you should offer a car wash and dry with special attention to the Windows. It is not wise to offer vacuuming of cars that come through the car wash fundrai

Brand Management Hassles Relieved by Online Storage
According to branding guru, Jerry Robinson, creativity, profitability and morale all rise when the large file in branding projects are available to everyone involved.Robinson has been a creative director for 20 years and has managed countless projects for countless companies (Revlon, Marriot, and Citicorp Global Payment Products, to name just a few). Operationally, one thing has consistently driven him crazy: effective management of the files used to create and support brand identity. These files include a

    • Have to go fight a fire
    • Don't have enough business, got to go out there and generate some.
The excuses run on and on. In reality, setting down long enough to plan and discover the gotcha's will prevent fire fighting and free up a lot of time, making your job easier, and even will allow for additional planning which will make it even easier yet.

Let me give you an example from an engineer's perspective. As an engineer in a previous career, before moving into executive coaching and business coaching, I discovered some interesting things that apply to business planning. As an want-a-be engineer in college almost every design I ever did worked. However, when I got out in the real world and a boss would ask "Can you design XYZ?" I would answer, "Sure, No problem. Conference Bags - Packing It All Up Right
If the medium is the message, then the packaging sets the tone. Conference bags deliver an immediate impression of the tenor of your conference. The conference bag design will be seen by every delegate and by hundreds of others for months and sometimes years to come. It will be one of the first chances that you get to make an impression on the delegates, speakers and attendees at your conference. It makes sense to choose a conference bag that matches the aim and image of the organization presenting the conference

    Employment and Career Starting Points
Most free market economists know that the minimum wage laws are an evil crutch for society and civilizations. Nevertheless some people believe we need a minimum-wage law, however it has been estimated that if you raise the minimum wage one dollar per hour you lose 800,000 jobs and if you raise it to dollars per hour you will lose 1.6 million jobs and some estimate that the number may be even higher. For two reasons one, because some businesses will not be able to afford it and two, because some businesses w

    Why the Bottom Line Isn't
Recently, I've been coaching a number of clients who work in highly competitive industries. It's not uncommon for these clients to have upwards of 30 direct competitors apiece - and that's just in the same town! One subject that has been coming up a lot lately is what to do when the competition keeps dropping their prices. If you and your competitor sell the exact same product, this can be an extremely difficult situation. Regardless of how many times you remind them that "you get what you pay for," custome

How To Avoid Being Eaten Alive By Your Bad Cash Flow
In olden days our ancestors had to cope with the elements, find shelter and stay out of the claws of wild animals that would rip one of their legs off for a snack. But in today’s business jungles, entrepreneurs have something much more ferocious to cope with – Cash Flow!Business picks up – you are working your backside off to get ahead, money is coming in, you rejoice and continue working your butt off. And at some point, you just have to get bigger premises, get a car tha

Paper Design Compared to Written Business Plan

Of course, as soon as I started writing it down on paper I'd discover something very important. I'd look at all of the different pieces on the paper and immediately see that the first section just didn't quite line up with the 2nd, the 2nd wasn't a perfect fit to the 3rd, and so on. I had told my boss I knew how so I had to get this rat's nest working. After tweaking section 1 to align with 2, 2 with 3, etc. finally I had something on a piece of paper that should work. Remember I had said I knew how while pointing between my ears? Are you running your business from "between
