The concept of a chronological series of articles revealing all aspects of my online business ventures no matter the personal consequences was my original focus. At this time though I believe it would be appropriate to actually reveal where or how far or not along I am with this adventure. So with the intentions of still covering the thought process up to this present revelation in future articles, I will detail as best I can my present online business condition.

At first and some times still is, it was intimidating and somewhat overwhelming. At this point I believe it is a personal judgement call whether to design and maintain what areas of your site. Of course there are several factors influencing this decision. Among them, finances, experience level-both in design work or the ability to choose a designer, knowledge level-marketing, software, and design, and mostly I believe the confidence and desire to do the work.

OK, my personal financing option is summed up by a phrase that stuck in my mind while watching a movie some time back, I believe Mickey Rooney played the part-'if it only cost a nickel to travel around the whole entire world, I could not even get out of site.' This one fact alone severely limits how much help you can solicit. Trusting my ability to learn, I so far have chosen to personally see to all aspects of my business website. In it seems all my business decisions I have not taken the path of least resistance. My philosophy is there is no better way to learn something than by the experience of actually doing it. Doing this you must be prepared for a long term commitment and the resolve to endure the unpleasant times of self doubt and frustration. I personally am wrestling with these items daily.

On a side note here I would like to express my respect, admiration, and wonder for the persons who pioneered the whole internet business phenomenon. To stay focused and believe that something abstract would work so much to see it to culmination is something to marvel at. No doubt every person involved then and now in developing new internet concepts of the unkown have had their moments of doubt and wonder if they were on the right track or even close. It is that respect that influences me to minimize the influence of others on my beliefs of how things should be. I am pretty sure here that I am describing a hard headed person, none the less, success or no success I will know and understand why.

The truth in my mind is, they know how much you want traffic and they use that weak spot to help liberate you of your finances without actually helping you at all. The thing is these people really do know what their talking about, but the only way to know what you are talking about is to go thru it. So the bottom line basically is you are going to go thru a personal learning curve to even know what they are talking about. At this time you will not need their advice because you already know. whew! At this point I have my website close to what I envisioned. I have decided to kind of let all the changes I have been making settle and study the statistics for my site.

Also with the finance thing comes the website submittal choices. Paying a service to optimize and submit your site is definitely out. I have used free programs for keyword research, to analyze pages, such as density and relevance, and also for submitting my site. Probably not the fastest way to hit the highway of success but again a learning experience that will stay with you.

I began my serious attempt with this website around the end of January, submitting to the search engines in February. I am still trying to figure out the meaning of the statistics, but my feeling is a rise in the numbers is good along with the consistency of them. For Jan. I had 17 unique visitors and barely a hundred hits. For Feb. I had 48 unique visitors and over a thousand hits. For March I had over 300 unique visitors and thousands of hits. For April the unique visitor count is over 300 with the hits topping 6000. Bandwidth and the other statistics are rising accordingly. I am still not sure what it all means but I feel progress is being made My intentions now are to focus on name recognition, acquiring links, which is a subject that deserves attention, and implementing various strategies for increased web traffic that I will share later.

Now here is the bottom line, although I feel progress is happening, sad and hard for me to say, but I have realized absolutely no profit from my online business journey. I am determined to make if not this one then one internet business adventure profitable and successful.
