Brandon Webb

One of the best pitchers in major league baseball this season is Brandon Webb of the Arizona Diamondback. Webb got off to a very fast start in 2006, and he has been able to carry this momentum for the duration of the season. Even though there is still a month or so left in the season, Webb is going as strong as ever before.

Albert Pujols

If you were asked who the best hitter in baseball is, what would you say? Generally speaking, the majority of people would answer Albert Pujols. For the last couple of seasons Pujols has been the best hitter in the game, and it does not appear that this is going to change anytime in the near future. The fact of the matter is that Pujols is one of the best hitters the game has ever seen, and he has proven this at the plate time and time again.

Carlos Zambrano

One of the best pitchers in the league this season has been Carlos Zambrano of the Chicago Cubs. Even without great run support, Zambrano has been able to get the job done time and time again. This is saying a lot for a guy that is pitching for a team that has been out of the playoff race for quite a few months.

Who Invented Baseball?

The boys of summer are at again. Whom can we bless for the Great American Pastime? One thing is for certain. It wasn't Abner Doubleday at Cooperstown, N.Y., in 1839 -- as a self appointed commission of American patriots would have us believe. Let us dispose of the Doubleday myth before proceeding.

This Week Make or Break for BoSox

The Boston Red Sox began a three-game series in Oakland against the first place Athletics Monday night. The Sox trailed the New York Yankees by 6 ? games in the A.L. East and the Minnesota Twins by 5 ? games in the Wild Card going into Monday night.

High Value MLB Pitchers

A bettor's ultimate dream is a sure thing - the horse that can't lose, the team that's a lock, the fighter that will knock his opponent out in the first three rounds. That's a nice dream, but unfortunately it's a pipe dream. Some MLB pitchers, however, are close to being a sure thing.

Baseballs Fattest Man

Baseballs Fattest Man must have been a Giant he surely could not have been a Dodger then again he might could sing like a Cardinal or an Oriole or maybe a Blue Jay and he could not slither like a Diamondback or soar like an Astro or take off like a Rocket could he have been an Angel he probably did spring training at the Brewers.

Don't Panic Just Yet Met Fans

The last few days have featured some of the Mets worst baseball of the season. With Pedro likely headed to the DL for the 2nd time this season, joining Cliff Floyd, the Mets have dropped their first two games at Philadelphia by a combined score of 24-4. Pedro only lasted one inning before being removed with an injured calf and El Duque set a Mets club record for most earned runs allowed in one appearance with 11.

Baseball Coaching - Don't Forget Your Catchers

Catchers require just as much and probably a lot more practice time as any of the other fielders on your team. Work with them to sharpen their skills just as you work with your other players. It only makes sense since they may be the most important player on the field. Don't forget your catchers.

Baseball Autographs

Signatures of popular baseball players have always had great appeal to collectors. Autographs of baseball hall of famers such as Babe Ruth, Tee Cobb, Roberto Clement and Lou Geri top the list of the most sought-after collectibles. Even autographs of other baseball players who did not make the Hall of Fame but had outstanding careers, such as Roger Mares, Thurman Munson and Tony Consigliore, are also wonderful additions to a collection.

Blue Jays Powdered by the Yankees

On August 3rd the New York Yankees and the Blue Jays had an encounter that crushed ... Jason Giambi, hit a three-run home run that ... The new acquisition, Cory Lidle, allowed ... the Canadian had their longest losing streak in the season ...

Understanding Trades in the Majors

Understanding the trades in the majors can be one of the most important parts of understanding the game. Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as one might would hope.

BaseBall Bats - America's Favorite Sport

America's National Pastime reached its Zenith of glory by 1860s. Alexander Joy Cartwright modernized the game in 1845 to almost its present form. However, the specifications to baseball bats kept changing with each innovation and need. The innovations changed bat materials to the present aluminum alloy from the classical wooden.

Baseball A Team Sport - ALL FOR ONE and ONE FOR ALL

Baseball a team sport embodies the spirit the determination and perseverance so eloquently portrayed by Alexandre Dumas' novel of The Three Musketeers and the Musketeers motto ALL FOR ONE and ONE FOR ALL. My brother Bailey has so vividly shown the parallel of how baseball teams may become winners by living The Three Musketeers motto All For One and One For All.
