White Sox Choke: I Told You So!
It’s only the third game into the second half of the 2006 season and the Chicago White Sox are living what I prophesied oh, four or five weeks back. They’re choking. I predicted:
(1) They’d have to settle for the Wild Card berth or less;
(2) The Yankees would surge and threaten for the Wild Card; and
(3) Detroit would gain ground in July based on an easier schedule.
Today, the Sox are four and a half games back of Detroit. Look for them to finish Huly at least five back or more.
After today, the Sox will only have a three game edge on the Yanks in the Wild Card.
That lead could easily evaporate by the middle of August, putting the Sox into retirement by October, unless they wake up, and pronto, says Dr. Gary S. Goodman, top speaker, Fortune 1000 consultant, and best-selling author of 12 books and over 700 articles.

Yankees Fans Living in La La Land
Yankees payroll still a major factor needed to be dealt with. Payroll disparity still not good for the game. Salary cap or something close is the only way to go.

The Young Guns
While it’s nice that the Mets managed to win the second game and split the series, it doesn’t really make that big of a difference given their huge lead in the NL East. What’s more important to take out of these two games is how well their young, rookie pitchers fared against the Marlins. The Mets had John Maine go for them in the first game, and highly touted and greatly hyped Mike Pelfrey went for the Mets in the second game.

Softball Bats
A softball bat is usually made of metal, hardwood, or any other approved materials. Its weight is around 38 oz. (1kg); it is 2.25 inches (6 cm) in diameter; and the height is less than 34 inches (86 cm). Technology has contributed a lot in the manufacture of a variety of powerful bats, which, in turn, has created some serious safety problems for pitchers and infielders.

Baseball At Its Best...Los Guerreros de Oaxaca
Attending a ballgame in the Mexican league is entertaining, a cultural learning experience, and perhaps best of all, can't be beaten for the price. Where else but in Mexico can a couple be entertained for three hours watching quality baseball, park only a couple of blocks from the park, have field level seats beside the dugout and pig out on junk food, all for about $15.

Why America's Pastime Is Losing Its Identity
Major League Baseball must be held accountable, regardless of myriad cultural reasons attributed to children’s lack of interest in baseball, predominantly in the inner city neighborhoods, for its lack of investment in them.
