Controversy Over Death Of NFL Player
The latest inquiry into the death of Pat Tillman should come to an end by December. Tillman was killed by friendly fire 2 1/2 years ago in Afghanistan.
It has now become clear that one of the four shooters, Staff Sgt. Trevor Alders had undergone a PRK laser eye surgery just before the incident. Although Tillman had put his hands up, identifying himself, all the Staff Sgt Alders could see was two sets of hands with his hazy vision. He assumed that Tillman and an allied Afghan were enemies and shot at them. Both were killed.

Atlanta's Defensive Backfield Depleted
Jason Webster, Falcons' cornerback, has torn his groin muscle is expected to be out of the game for a month. This does not augur well for Atlanta as it has further depleted their defensive backfield.

Eagles: Peterson Signs Deal and Changes His Name
Peterson signed a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday. The five-year veteran also changed his name to William James. This change might be synonymous of a new start for the player who did play in a game in nearly 14 months because of back problems. Peterson was regarded as one of the NFL's emerging young cornerbacks in 2004.

NFL: Chad Johnson Fined $5,000
While Chad Johnson already lost his golden mohawk, the colorful Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver has been fined $5,000 by the National Football League. The player can still make an appeal of the league’s sanction before one week. Otherwise he will be obliged to pay the fine.
