NFL Power Rankings - Week 4

Somewhere between Chris Simms' spleen and Terrell Owens' publicist the NFL made a hard left-hand turn this week. We have teams coming off byes, clubs trying to rebound from heartbreaking divisional losses and the Oakland Raiders. But amidst the madness we have a strong slate this weekend, topped by the Seattle at Chicago showdown Sunday night.

NFL Week 3 Predictions

I am keeping track of each NFL game each week and making my bold predictions. I play in a few pools and fantasy leagues and have always wondered about how I would do over the course of an entire season picking the winners with and without the spread.

Louisville/Kansas State Saturday CFB Showdown

The eighth-ranked Louisville Cardinals will have to do without star running back Michael Bush, who broke his right leg in the season opener, and quarterback Brian Brohm, who tore a ligament on his throwing hand in the third quarter last week against Miami, when they take on the 3-0 Kansas State Wildcats.

ESPN Proclaims Jacksonville, Ferringo Report No Longer Unknowns

The Miami Dolphins proved that they are still a gutless, undisciplined, weak-willed team. They got worked on Sunday - in their own house - by a team that just wanted it more. Every single indicator – historical trends, recent trends, injuries, etc. – pointed towards a huge Miami victory. But as I mentioned, I underestimated the blatant incompetence of Daunte Culpepper and the Miami Dolphins.

Betting the NFL Moneyline

The point spread. It’s the bread and butter of sports gambling, the reason football is far-and-away to most popular sport to wager on. But with parity in the NFL on the rise, the money line is becoming an increasingly attractive option for your Sunday selections.

NFL Week Two Part Four

In part four of our NFL week two preview, we will look at two NFL games. I'll review the following games: the Patriots and the Jets and the Titans at the Chargers. Both of these games have potential playoff implications. The Patriots possibly get their second easy game in a row, while the Chargers will face an increased task this week. Let's take a look.

NFL Football picks for week 2 (9/17/06 - 9/18/06)

My week 2 NFL football picks

49ers Head Coach Mike Nolan Reads the Ferringo Report!

Their first play from scrimmage was a 74-yard touchdown from Charlie Frye to Braylon Edwards. That was it. Frye was the right guy for the job! Edwards was back! The Dawg Pound was going berserk! The Cleveland Curse was exorcised! There would be peace in the Middle East! Global warming would be no more!

The Big Ten Report - Week Two

Week two of the college football season proved to be a much tougher test for the Big Ten Conference. The teams combined for a 2-7 ATS record and the two teams that played Div. I-AA opponents did not look impressive either. That being said, the conference does possess the top team in the country in the Ohio State Buckeyes. They appear to be the clear-cut favorite and should be able to run the table providing they can get by a trip to Iowa City on Sept. 30. The following will recap a few of the highlights from week two and preview the last week of non-conference play:

Notre Dame Squeaks By Yellow Jackets

Number 2 Notre Dame squeaked by the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Saturday 14-10. At one point in the game, the Fighting Irish were down 10-0. Scores in the 2nd and 3rd quarter helped Notre Dame take a 14-10 lead, which was the final score. Was this really the number two team in the country? This win over unranked Georgia Tech was very unimpressive. After all the touting of Notre Dame in the offseason, I expect much more out of them.

Dallas Cowboys Week 1 Game Analysis

The game started off good. A short kick-off was corralled by Kyle Brady who was only able to make it to the 18 where Al Singleton wrapped him up.

Allen Iverson

Do you remember when Allen Iverson was drafted out of Georgetown 10 years ago? It seems like it was just yesterday, doesn’t it? Regardless, over his time in the NBA Allen Iverson has always been one of the best players. But as of late, he has more or less fallen off the big map.

NFL Week 1 Power Rankings

Doc's Sports will rank all 32 teams in the NFL from the strongest to the weakest, with a betting slant, throughout each week of the 2006-2007 NFL season. And without further ado, here are my Week 1 NFL Power Rankings (previous ranking in parenthesis):

Pinnacle Offers Fantasy Football Match-ups

Fantasy football is very popular these days, and it can be fun. Sitting in a room with your buddies on draft day deciding which quarterback is going to have a better season, or which running back will gain more yards and score more touchdowns can be a challenging and exciting process. Chicago or Carolina on defense? Rackers or Janikowski?
