Championship Season Preview 2006/07 - Cardiff City
Cardiff City excelled under Dave Jones during his first season in charge but poor form towards the end of the season meant a mid table finish when it looked as though the play offs were a distinct possibility.

Barcelona Soccer
Barcelona, as a city, enjoys and promotes sports. Today, thanks in large part to the 1992 Olympic Games, a quarter of the city's population now regularly does some type of sport and has included physical exercise in their habitual activities. The people of Barcelona have seized the city's public spaces, squares, parks and new beaches, and turned them into focal points for sports activities. The City Council promotes and stimulates sport at all levels - from amateur to professional, from school to retirement, from 'fun runs' to summer activities – by building and remodeling facilities, equipping districts and educational centers. Soccer is the favorite sport of Barcelona.

American Soccer Disappoints Again in the World Cup
The 2006 World Cup was going to be our year to show the world that we belong on the world stage in soccer. The Americans boasted a squad with quite a bit of international experience and a hunger to show the world that they belonged. Coming into the 2006 World Cup, the United States team was ranked 5th in the world by FIFA. Another great sign of hope was that the Americans made it to the Quarterfinals of the 2002 World Cup, which gave everyone hope that this could be the year everything was going to come together. For one of the first times I could remember people in America were actually excited about the World Cup.
